Printing Family Name Cards
It used to be the practice that when a patron went to the temple with his/her own family names, after the ordinance was completed, the name card would be available for the patron to have the card returned to him/her. Now, the card is kept after an ordinance is performed. The problem with that is in the printing of the name cards after an initial ordinance is performed. If the card is printed showing all ordinances, then an ordinance is performed, the patron is required to print another card for the next ordinance. However, the FS program makes that difficult because, according to the program, the card has already been printed. The result is that it has become very user unfriendly, at least to my wife and me. I suggest FS be programed so that only one ordinance can be printed at a time, and also that the ordinances can only be printed in the proper order. That would eliminate the common practice of inadvertently doing a sealing before a baptism, initiatory or endowment is done. Another suggestion has to do with ordinances not being available. The FS program won't allow ordinances to be reserved, without permission, if the ancestor has been born within the past 110 years. However, after that date has gone by, the program doesn't always change and let the ordinances be available. I have encountered this many times. In the past all I needed to do was to click on the help icon, then the contact us icon, and I would be given a page to send a message directly to FS and the problem would be corrected within a day. Now I am not able to find the place to send such a message without searching through the entire page of help suggestions and blog suggestions. That has also become very user unfriendly. I suggest making it easier to contact FS to correct the ordinance not available problem, and fix the delay in the FS program to where the ordinance will become available once the 110 years has expired.
