I ask if James Newton Adams born Feb 1857 in Newton County, Ark., was an Indian . On the 1900 census it shows him living in Eason, Pottawatomie, Okla on the Indian Reservation. If he was Indian, what tribe?

You will need to do further research to determine if this individual was a Native American. Living on an Indian reservation doesn't necessarily mean they were Native American.
