I have a source linker where it is trying to attach the father to the mother location. Is there any way for me to correct this?

Yes: simply click the "Change" button on the left-hand (indexed record) side and choose the other spouse.

This should cause people to be lined up correctly; if it doesn't, you may have to apply the corresponding Change button on the right-hand (tree) side. But the point is that Source Linker can always be made to attach records where you want them. It just may take varying levels of force. :-)

If Source Linker is being very stubborn, use the Change link on the left to set your desired focus person then click the Change link on the right and put the ID number of the corresponding person in the box for it. This always works as a last resort.

It took a combination of the left and right change buttons, but I got it. Thanks.

Getting familiar the those Change buttons is a really good skill. They are very handy when attaching complex sources since as those census records where you have:

    • Husband
    • Wife
    • Child
    • Child
    • Brother-in-law
    • Neice
    • Wife's grandmother

You can flip around the left side as much as you want and shift the right side or use ID numbers if needed to get everyone properly attached.
