Nevada Marriage Index, 1956-2005 Confusion with Event Field

I was searching this database for a marriage reference (which I did find <https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VVB9-S5Y>) but the Event Date is listed as 9 Sep 2009 in the search result. How can this be if the dataset only goes up to 2005? I know the bride could not have been married in 2009 as she died in 2005. The marriage actually took place in 1958.

I think this needs to be corrected. Either correct the Even Date or use the Marriage Date in the searches.

Is the Event Date the date it was indexed per chance?

Since the record is from a printed index, I wonder if it may have been indexed by OCR rather than by human eye.

The printed page is available on Ancestry, and the copy quality is not great. The OCR process would have been challenged to read it properly.

OCR indexed is highly probable. Not every record in this particular dataset has an Event Date field, but they all have a Marriage Date field. Oddly enough the Marriage Date field seems to be more accurate for the date than the Even Date is. ::shrug:: I think FamilySearch should be using the marriage date field for the search results display. My opinion.
