Birth Records incorrectly indexed as NNED Death Records

Are you saying that the project you are working on is Death, and there are Births in there marked as NED? Please share your batch#. It's at the end of the title at the top, in brackets like {XXX-XX].
If you look in the instructions, which is what I want to see, sometimes there are instructions that address this.
Thanks!

The batch number is in the first sentence of my email.

Hi @jerzeegirl65 "This info from Melissa S Hines may help: There is an avenue for reviewers to help indexers/reviewers get some extra help. You can return the batch for reindexing using the form "Reasons to Reindex Batch". You will have to activate the form. With the batch open, click on Help, click on Labs, Activate the form and follow the instructions. Check it out - you can look at the example and see if you would like to use the form." https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/the-batch-i-am-reviewing-needs-reindexing

Hi @jerzeegirl65, it looks like you returned the batch and you should do that always if you are ever not sure or confused with how to do it. Someone else will pick it up.
Sorry for not seeing the batch # when I looked at this the first time!
I just wanted to look at the project instructions. Often on a project for deaths as this one was, birth, marriage or other types are included. It depends on how the record owner (government entity, for example) stored them and how they were filmed.
So the project instructions will either say mark these NED or you would be given the ability to change the type of form in the index panel. Don't worry, they aren't lost! They are looked over and put in a new batch to index with the correct field for the document types.
Just wanted to clarify how it's done and to reassure you!

Thank you for the clarification. I am embarrassed to say that I never noticed the drop down menu under "Batch" and I have been indexing records for quite a while....lol. You were very helpful. Have a great evening! Mary
