"Not Available"?

Sirs,

First - I miss talking to someone about my questions.

That being said - Here is an explanation of my question. I may be providing too much info - but I do not know exactly what needs to be shared or what I need to learn/know.

I have an aunt, Deborah Jean Herzog, who has asked me to get her mother-in-laws ordinances completed. For Jean Elizabeth Barnby, LFKD-PFT, the FamilySearch system says. "This person's ordinance status is not available. Please contact FamilySearch Support if you are a relative and need more information."

To my knowledge this is code for - Jean either was excommunicated, or asked for her name to be removed from the records of the church while she was living.

Several years before Jean's death she asked her daughter-in-law, Deborah, the "get my temple sealings done for me." Deborah felt it was time to look into this issue and found the footnote in Jean's file. My aunt has asked me to make contact through the FamilySearch system to learn what the process would be to either reinstate Jean's standing in the Church, or gain permission for her ordinances to be completed at this point in time. Jean's son, Howard Allen Herzog, is in agreement and would like to see his mother's work is completed.

So, what do I need to know? I believe that at a minimum there would be a review process to complete. How do I go about submitting a request for a review of the situation with regards to Jean Elizabeth Barnby, LFKD-PFT?

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

@Christensen, Renee, first a moderator should move this post for you, but to speed things along you can just re-post it under the "Temple" Category at https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/temple

A brief statement with the PID and the issue like, this person's ordinance status is not available. I would like to do those ordinances will suffice.

There are other reasons other than the ones you listed for this message. In any event someone should private message you to get further details and give instructions etc.

And yes we all miss the phone. You can if you want schedule a Google Meet. Pick the "Temple Ordinances" meeting type. https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/united-states-and-canada-contact-us
