Question on email notification of temple ordinance available.

I would like an answer to this question. Why do I get notifications for temple work for a person whose work, all ordinances, were done in 1983 in Washington Temple? Her name is Charin Suuroinen. Doesn’t the program pick out the names that are already done? There is so much duplicates unnecessarily.

If you got a notification -- it would be for a recent temple event (that you apparently submitted)
HOWEVER
its quite possible when you got the notification - it was under one record
BUT THEN someone MERGED it with another record for the same person which already had the work done.
These duplicates are usually checked before they are submitted to avoid this.
BUT the checking duplicates is an error prone process.
in short it is possible that you got the notification for a temple event that was done recently
BUT THEN someone merged it with a record (after that) that already had the work done.
ITS also possible there may still be two different records for that person - one set with a recent date and one set with the 1983 date
for this reason - one should always do a thorough check to see possible duplicates before you submit names.
The computer will try to advise you of possible duplicates -- but it is not a perfect check and a HUMAN BEING looking at it -- will often do better than the computer (if they take the time to do a thorough check)

For your person Charin Suuroinen MM3G-Y6W, if you look at the Ordinances page, you will see that she has a completed sealing to parents that isn't to the parents that are currently listed. AND she has a sealing to the currently listed parents that has not yet been completed. That open sealing is why you received the email about her. As to whether it is correct or not...that would take some investigation into your tree and her sources particularly. In a quick look at all the changes to her record, I can see that there have been several women merged together. It is likely that one of them had parents listed that were dropped out at some point. The other possibility is the order the records were merged. In any case I'd submit a request here (Temple category) to locate that sealing-to-parents ordinance, to see which parents are named and if they are the same as the current parents, to fix it so that the sealing to parents ordinance no longer shows.
