I just received two batches to review that were incorrectly indexed....

as death records, when they should have been indexed as birth records. Unfortunately, it is too late to change them since they are in the review phase. The batch id numbers are

  • Italia (Antenati Italiani), Palermo—Morti, 1820–1865 [Parte A][MMCH-SZ1] and
  • Italia (Antenati Italiani), Palermo—Morti, 1820–1865 [Parte A][MMCH-S89]

Should I just send them back unfinished or finalize them as they stand (as "No Extractable Data")?

    @jerzeegirl65

    The instructions say only to index death records (there is no option to choose birth). Emphasizing,

    • Many records show multiple dates, including death, birth, and marriage dates and registration dates. Pay close attention, in particular, not to confuse the registration dates and the other event dates.

    I don't read Italian, so if you are sure there are no death dates in the information, then you can leave them as "No Extractable Data".

    These are definitely Birth Records as they are labeled Atto di Nascita. Ugh, unfortunately, I just found another one - Italia (Antenati Italiani), Palermo—Morti, 1820–1865 [Parte A][MMCH-SZJ]

    I will leave them as No Extractable Data because there is nothing else I can do but I sure hope they eventually get reclassified as birth records and eventually indexed. 😊

    Hopefully a Moderator will see your note and pass it on to the appropriate person.

    @jerzeegirl65 -- all No Extractable Data (NNED) records get another look from "higher-up the chain of command" (I mean this in a good way) after they are both indexed or marked NNED and reviewed so when you as Reviewer are certain, then go ahead and submit as NNED😎
