Help reading the name of the witness to this birth and christening record for Catharina Kirchner.
As far as I can tell the entry reads as follows:
The mother was living in Sichenhausen Kr. Schotten Hessen, but the birth took place in the birthing institut in Giessen. The witness becomes very important in determining Catharina's place of origin.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I read:
There is a town Ehrstädt in Sinsheim Elsenz, Heidelberg, Baden, and an Eberstadt near Giessen.
But I am not totally convinced I've got things right... Do you find any other clues in Sichenhausen records?

Thank you for your help. There are several Catharina Kirchners from Sichenhausen having illegitimate children in surrounding parishes. The Kirchners are shepherds and move around a lot. I'm trying to sort them out. This birth doesn't appear in the Sichenhausen [Herchenhain parish] records, although some of the births that occurred in Giessen do appear in the Sichenhausen records. I wonder if the name of the town could be "Berstadt" even though the spelling is not correct. It would be in Kreis Büdingen in Hessen.

Berstadt is definitely a good possibility.
