How can I correct the indexing error described below? It is NOT a USUAL indexing error.

It is supposed to take you to the 1900 Census for Kendall County, ED 38, Image 17 of 29, and is in reference to line 92 for William Kuhlingham, and line 93 for James Warren. The original indexer recorded William Kuhlingham twice and skipped his stable boy, James Warren. When I attempted to edit the second record, my edits changed both lines. James Warren may be a black stable boy, but his descendants need to be able to find him just as much as the descendants of WIlliam Kuhlingham need to find him. Will someone go in and fix this? I can't.

@James Hurst2 In my first reply, I tagged the Mod who has taken the lead on this issue. If you take a look at the many other threads on this topic, you will see that the issue is taken seriously.

@James Hurst2 Thank you for reporting additional examples of the problems we are seeing with the 1900 US Census. We will add your report to the other examples the engineers are looking at. We cannot predict how long it will take for these issues to be resolved.

While you wait for things to be fixed, you might want to use the census image as your source document to attach to records on Family Tree. When you have the image open, you'll see a Source Box button in the top right. You can click there and add the image to your source box. Then, you can attach from the source box to the correct people. Here are links to some help center articles that give more details:

There is a known problem, currently in the hands of the engineers, with the index for the 1900 census.

Same census, next image, lines 34 and 35. This is why I looked at this census in the first place. Mathias Bauman had been unlinked from his census record, and I wanted to know why. It's because they indexed him twice and failed to index his wife. Someone disconnected Mathias and linked the record to his wife. When you fix James Warren, fix Fredericke Baumann too.

As I said, there is a known problem with the index for the 1900 census. It is not that someone disconnected the index from the people. There is an apparent corruption of the index.

Well, if Family Search decides to do something about it, they now have two more records they know need fixing (assuming they will see these comments.)
