Publishing the 1950 Census
At the snails pace the current review is going, will FS publish the 1950 Census for FS search? During the FS process, the first two steps were stopped to speed up the review but as is, FS is about 3 months behind the National Archives and Ancestry.com who published the census in it’s entirety using the computer generated name recognition. In my opinion this process isn’t working.

@Michael Torstrick, our review of the 1950 census is going slower than planned because of glitches in the system with the AI indexing of Ancestry.com and the review process. FamilySearch and Ancestry are in a partnership with this review process we are doing. When our review process is finished, it will go to Ancestry for what you would call a type of merge, as I understand. FamilySearch does have the 1950 images that you can view and search in that are pared down with states, counties, towns and enumeration districts. You can't search for a specific name. I don't understand the whole process, but when it is finished by state, you will be able to search in FamilySearch and bring up the document and the index/review and be able to attach to your family.
I doubt that I was much help, but I hope in some small way. Please be patient with the process. Thank you for all that you are doing!

@Michael Torstrick - The version you are seeing for most states on Ancestry is the first round OCR version - it hasn't been reviewed and corrected. I think there are about 10 states plus territories that are complete on Ancestry. And as @AndLinda stated, once each state is done being reviewed and indexed, it will be sent to Ancestry for updating.
