Keep reference image pane hidden

I've noticed that when I first log in and start indexing, the reference image pane at the bottom is hidden. For all succeeding batches, however, the reference pane is open and I have to manually hide it each time.

How about making it stay hidden unless we open it? And keep it open if we open it. In other words, have the indexing page remember the previous state of the bottom reference pane.
