I am not related and a non member mother has asked us to do temple work

We wish to complete the work of the above member who passed away 8 July 2018 in Launceston Tasmania. We are:

  • not related to her
  • we do have permission from the mother, Marjorie Fisher who is still alive, to complete this work.

Family Search does not allow us to be able to complete this work even though we have permission.

Could you please show us how this can be accomplished?

Cheers

    Hello Peri,

Thank you for your message. To be able to do this work, you would need to have written and signed permission from a close family member. This then needs to be submitted to FamilySearch for review.

The written permission needs to be worded as follows:

I, (name of person giving permission), give (your name) permission to do temple work in a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple, for (name of deceased), who is my (relationship to person giving permission).

    (Signature of person giving permission)

You can contact us either by email or via an online consultation. This link will take you to a place you can access this: https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/asia-australia-new-zealand-pacific-islands-and-philippines-contact-us

We hope you have a great time at the temple!

    Rosemary
