"Grouping" non-related individuals together
Hi all,
Is it possible to group or categorise a group of non-related individuals together?. Making it easier to find them back?
I'm working (with a few others) on a small project and I would like to be able to find the profiles created for this location in an easy way.
If this option is not there, would it be possible to share a source from my source box with another patron? That way we would be able to connect these non-related individuals to the same source (also a place to collect them).

Depending on the size of your project, you can "Follow" the individuals, and you can use the label option. The label option is private - only you can see your labels.

You can create and attach a source to all of the profiles, and then you and others can see the list of all of the profiles that it's attached to. The drawback is that all of the attachments have to be made by one person, from his or her source box, because we can't share our source boxes. (Other people can copy a source, but then it is no longer connected to the previous instances, thereby defeating the whole purpose.)
You could probably set up some sort of shared image in Memories and "group" your people that way, but I have very little experience with that section of FamilySearch.
Another idea: list all the PIDs somewhere, like in a Note on the Collaborate tab. Of course, there's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem in getting to one of the members of the group to find the list... I suppose you could put it on a webpage somewhere other than FS (WikiTree has "free space" pages that are admirably suited to the purpose).

@Julia Szent-Györgyi I like your idea of a shared memory image. I may morph that a little (ie create an album for such images) so I can track my lineage research more easily.

Thank you all for the idea's. I'm going to look into the shared memories option. I think that would work best between multiple patrons. Will let you know if this worked out a bit :)

I promised to let you know if the shared memories could do what I was looking for. And indeed, this was a good solution. We started tagging these profiles to the shared memory and it makes it really easy to find them back.

keep in mind that each person in FamilyTree has a unique URL - that can even be bookmarked as needed.
You can create your own document with all the URL's (people) you want to keep track of
and share that document with others. (im not specifically referring to FS - just how in general you can share links with others)
