I am indexing tax records and there are several unique names written in ink that have then been crossed off with pencil. Do I still index those names?

In your project instructions under Additional Information, you will find a section on what to do with crossed out information. Without seeing your batch but from what you are saying , I would say yes index those names.

You should read the instructions to make sure that is correct.

    • When information was crossed out, was not replaced, and can be read, type the crossed-out information.
    • When information was crossed out, was not replaced, and cannot be read, mark the field as unreadable
    • When information was crossed out and then replaced, type the new information in the appropriate fields.

    Hope this helps
