Error when attaching sources

I have been getting an error when I try to attach sources. This is the article I found about it.

The 4th item is the one I am trying to understand. Why would my virus software all the sudden start preventing me from attaching sources. This something recent so I don't understand how it connects to the software. I have had it for more than six months and only started having problems with attaching in April. I have done everything else on the list. When I switched browers several weeks ago everything was working fine until the last week when I clicked on a source and it would tell me there was an error in opening the source and to try again later. Then Saturday when I would go to attach the source it would tell me it couldn't find that source and I couldn't attach it. If I follow the suggestion of removing this software so I can attach sources then I don't have the protection I need and would need to pay for another service.
