My wife's aunt, Ardath Jeanette Loosli G6LH-2N1, is showing as deceased on both mine and her family tree. She is actually still living. The source provided by user "tlb_2409" is a photo from Billiongraves showing the back side of her parents monument at the North Morgan cemetery in Morgan, Utah. The back of the stone has the inscription "Our Children, Ardath J Loosli, Charles Gary Loosli". It is very common in that cemetery for the names of people's children be on the the back (sometimes the front) of the stones. My wife's name is on the back of her mother's stone there. We had the same problem with her living father (Charles Gary Loosli) not too long ago. That was fixed in the system so he shows up living on our trees now. I understand that when Ardath's record is fixed, she will no longer show up on our trees.

Thank you,

Donald T Breffle and Suzanne L Breffle

Hello. It sounds like you would like to change the status of your wife's aunt's vital information from deceased to living. I can see how that could have gotten a bit mixed up with the BillionGraves photo. I found an article in the Help Center that offers some steps to take to get the vital information changed from deceased to living. The steps to take depend on whether or not you were the only contributor to the record. I'm copying and pasting the steps here:

    Before you start

Be sure that your account settings contain a valid email address or phone number. Both can be helpful in working through the process of changing the individual's status. If you are using a tablet, we suggest you use the Family Tree mobile app rather than the website.

    Steps (website)

If you are the only contributor:

    1. Navigate to the person page of the individual who is living.
    2. Click Details
    3. In the Vitals section, next to the listed death date, select Edit.
    4. In the box that appears, click the circle labeled Living
    5. Enter how you know the person is still alive.
    6. Click Save

The word "Living" now shows in the Death field, and the Private People banner appears at the top of the person page. The record is now visible only to you.

If you are not the only contributor:

    1. Navigate to the person page of the individual who is living.
    2. Click Details
    3. In the Vitals section, next to the listed death date, select Edit.
    4. In the box that appears, click the circle labeled Living
    5. Enter how you know the person is still alive.
    6. Click Save
    7. Enter an explanation for the system administrator to review your request. Please provide this information:
      • Your relationship to the individual needing attention
      • How you know that the person is alive
      • If possible, the living person's current physical address
    8. Click Submit.

A request now goes to FamilySearch Support. A system administrator reviews your request and takes appropriate actions.

I hope that helps clear this up but if not, please reach out again.
