Hello, we are looking for Kelecsény, Kl'acany under Kosice county. We used the Cisarik.com website & noticed there are 2 Kl'acany, but the one under TRNAVA doesn't appear to have the surname Lukacz. http://www.cisarik.com/0_Klacany_Michalovce_KI_Ung_Uzhorod.html

Kapusianske Klacany

Which option under Roman Catholic Kosice should we be looking? Why don't we see Kl'acany as a choice? Thank you.

The 1913 gazetteer has over a dozen places named Kelecsény. Combining its information with Dvorzsák's gazetteer, sticking just with the ones that are now in Slovakia, I get:

Kelecsén, Liptó: Liptovské Kľačany; formerly Kellecsény, Klacsanyi. RC in the outlying settlement of Szent-Erzsébet (belonging administratively to Kelecsén, so filed under it in most places, except for Dvorzsák's gazetteer), Luth. in Német-Lipcse.

Décskelecsény, Nyitra: Kľačany; formerly Kelecsény, also known as Klacsány. No church locally, RC Récsény Alsó, Luth. Assakürt.

Feketekelecsény, Bars: Čierne Kľačany; formerly Kelecsény. No church locally, RC in Aranyos-Maróth.

Fülekkelecsény, Nógrád: Fiľakovské Kľačany, part of Fiľakovské Kováče. No church locally, RC Galsa, Luth. Losoncz.

Garamkelecsény, Bars: Hronské Kľačany. No church locally, RC in Ó-Bars.

Kiskelecsény, Trencsén: Malý Kolačín, part of Nová Dubnica; formerly Kis-Kolácsin. No church locally, RC in Dubnicza.

Magyarkelecsény, Ung: Kľačany, part of Kapušianske Kľačany; formerly Kelecsény. No church locally, RC Dobóruszka, GC Matyócz, Ref. Nyárád.

Nagykelecsény, Trencsén: Veľký Kolačín, part of Nová Dubnica; formerly Nagy-Kolácsin. No church locally, RC in Dubnicza.

Saskőkelecsény, Bars: Kľačany, part of Trnavá Hora; formerly Klacsán or Kelechen. No church locally, RC in Jasztraba.

Tótkelecsény, Nógrád: Slovenské Kľačany. No church locally, RC Nagy-Zellő, Luth. Alsó-Sztregova.

Vágkelecsény, Túrócz: Turčianske Kľačany; formerly Klicsin, Klacsan, Klacany. No church locally, RC and Luth. in Szucsán.

Zemplénkelecsény, Zemplén: Zemplínsky Klečenov, part of Zemplínska Nová Ves; formerly Kelecseny. No church locally, RC in Barancs, GC in Isztáncs, Ref. in Gercsely.

Borda-Kelecsen, Abauj-Torna: Košický Klečenov; also known as Kelecsény, Klacsanov, later Kelecsenborda. GC local, RC in Regete-Ruszka.

    ---

The reason you can't find your Kelecsény in the waypoints or the catalog is that it had no church, so there are no records filed under its name. The Roman Catholic residents of the Kelecsény that was in Ung county (Magyarkelecsény) and is now part of Kapušianske Kľačany were recorded in Dobóruszka, which is now Ruská, and is found under Veľké Kapušany in the waypoints (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GR7W-6FD?i=5&owc=9P3T-N3F%3A107654301%2C114725001%2C163119801%3Fcc%3D1554443&wc=9P3T-N3N%3A107654301%2C114725001%2C163119801%2C163120701%3Fcc%3D1554443&cc=1554443&cat=744104).

Wow, thank you so much. He was from MAGYARKELECSENY. I took a Slovak course with Lisa Alzo, & learned about Gazetteers but still have not practiced using them. I appreciate your help & will look there.😁
