There are a set of state county court and land records which are locked up by copyright restrictions. I am starting a letter writing campaign to the copyright owner (a state probate judge) to release the copyright. If the judge agrees, who should he send the letter of release?

If anyone asks, I did send a lookup request to Family Search and I was denied due to copyright restrictions.

I am not connected with FamilySearch.

If you don't get a more specific reply, FamilySearch Archives Department Information gives an email address of archives@familysearch.org as "Contact Us" applicable for archives, churches, and other record custodians.

@melanes Apologies that your post got lost in the shuffle somehow and you didn't get a response for how to request a change in access rights. The record custodian can email libraryrights@familysearch.org to request a change in access level.
