is there an order to who can give permission for temple ordnances ?
I want to reserve the baptism and confirmation of my cousin.
His sister gave me permission but when I go into family search it asks if the spouse is living. The answer is yes. Then it wants the spouses name, address, phone number.
Does that mean I have to have the spouse’s permission instead of the sibling’s permission?
I thought any close living relative could give permission.

Hello @Pam Gross
Here is the information from the relevent knowledge article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/do-i-need-permission-from-the-closest-living-relative-to-do-temple-ordinances
"The close living relatives are an undivorced spouse, an adult child, a parent, a brother, or a sister."
and
"Consider and respect the wishes of close living relatives, especially a living spouse, and accept the answer you receive."
The knowledge article does not specify an order.
I hope you find this information useful.

perhaps it is a programing error that seems to require a living spouse as the first person to get permission from. There doesn't seem to be another way to show permission from someone else if the spouse is living.
in this case, I don't know the spouse, but I can have my cousin get that information.

After the question "Is the spouse of xxx alive?"
scroll down until you see "What type of permission did you get from the spouse?"
Click "Didn't Get Permission"
Keep scrolling down and you will get the opportunity to enter the details of the close relative who did you give you permission.
You can leave the spouse details blank.
