Asking a question
Ask a question needs to be on the front page! We stumbled on the "+" but now cannot find it again? This community is not helpful!!!

In order to ask a question, you just need to choose a category to ask it in. The list of categories is in the right-hand column, below the "quick links" box.
You can't go too far wrong if you start with "General Questions" (https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/general-questions); a moderator may simply move your question to a more appropriate category if needed.
(Exception/pet peeve: if the word "temple" features in your question title, please use that category.)

I was reviewing family groups for 1950 census & found my father as a 19yr old. The family name was miss spelled. I did the other names on the page (his childhood rural neighbors) but I was never able to go back to the family. I did most of the others on that page which also had one family carry over to the next. As I finished that group it submitted & I have been unable to retrieve the page. It was for Colo. the name is Hasty family but the Census was showing Hosty. Please help me fix this!

8/17/2022 - I have been looking for a place to ask a question for 40 minutes. I have not been able to locate the place where I can do this. Can this process please be modified to make it easier to not only find the place to ask a question, but be placed in a location were it is easily accessed? I still haven't found it.

@atrukid, click Community Home at the top. Scroll down to find the Categories box in the right-hand column and click the category that best matches the type of question you'd like to ask. General Questions is the fallback; if you're not sure, use that. Click the category to go to its page, then click the blue Ask a Question button at the top of the right-hand column.

We DO need better access to ask about or report a problem -- like the older FEEDBACK button. The "Ask a Question" button gives us this, but it is BURIED so deep that it's hard to find.
Once I found it, I made a bookmark for that page so I could get to it more easily!! However, as a ward family consultant, not having easy access to this function has made it more confusing for the ward members that I help when they have a problem.

Family Search.....this ancestry platform is a mess. Trying to navigate it is a nightmare. Much of the information regarding my parents and family is incorrect. They had many skeletons in the closet. I am discovering that other platforms have it right and since you are working with them I do not understand why you do not.
I am being told by Google that your Help and Suggest Idea pages are not secure. You are not using HTTPS!! HTTP is being used instead. My system was hugely breached last month and I'm still cleaning up. Today I took my chances entering these pages but it is the only way to get any assistance or give suggestions.
My password is stuck in the password box and all anyone has to do is enter my username and they are in. Please, Please, Please fix this immediately. I did change my username last night but with HTTP only I trust nothing.

Julia, thank you. I am unable to locate the blue box. I went to the categories in two different places, but can't find the blue box. Any more suggestions? Thanks, Cindy

@atrukid, are you perhaps using a device with a narrow screen? The Community software does weird things when the viewing window narrows: the blue button may be an unlabeled circle, or it may be hidden behind a
mystery::ahem, sorry, I meant:: menu button somewhere.0 -
Thank you. That didn't work either.
However, I found a place I could go for now, until it changes. I went to the page where I have my discussions. My drafts didn't work so I select a blue button called New Post. Four options came up New discussion, New poll, New idea and ask a question.
Finally.
