Hopkins Family
Hello, I am looking for the parents of William F Hopkins who I believe was born around 1783 in Harford County Maryland and died in 1849 in Shelby County Kentucky. He married Eliza Fry Carson in Lexington, Kentucky on September 5, 1820.
Thank you in advance for any help

@Michael Flagg The Maryland State Archives at msa.maryland.gov have tax records and land deeds online. You will need to register (free) before using the site. The 1784 tax list for Harford County showed only four Hopkins--Joseph, William, and Gerrard Hopkins in the Deer Creek Lower township, and Samuel in a neighboring township. Land deeds often reveal family relationships and it would be worth your time to look up all the Hopkins in the deed index. For example, in Deed Book W, page 389-390, the children of Gerard are listed. One of them is named William. In doing a bit of googling, it seems this Hopkins family in Deer Creek may have been Quakers. Do you know if your William belonged to any religious sect?
Also, do you find William in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses? Did any other Hopkins move with him to Kentucky? Did your William have children and if so, do any of them have uncommon names?
I wish you luck in finding more pieces of the puzzle and if we can be of further help, please ask.
