Account creation/recovery

I work at a family history center at night, with youth under 13 years of age so there is no one at family search to talk to at night. I was told the 10 minute time is a best guess and indeed could take up to 3 hours via email or 20-30 minutes via phone. The issue of creating an account for this and other age groups seems spurious as some times there is no problem with creating or recovering an account and at other times it will not work. I was told this is a very common problem throughout the world and appears to be a technical issue with software program or firewalls within family search programming. It seems that something as simple as CRN plus DOB should be sufficient justification to denote that the request for account creation/recovery is legitimate.
