    I am interested that my DNA shows an 9% Ashkenazi ancestry. I have reasons to believe that occurs in my mother's line more particularly associated with the Averitt or Averett names. Her ancestors arrived in Virginia in the mid 1600's. The family tradition is that they were Huguenots. In my readings I have discovered that by virtue of extreme Catholic persecution in France that the Huguenots and Jews tended to live at times in common ghettos. Any information that would bolster or disabuse this theory would be greatly appreciated.
