Thank you so much for your service at FamilySearch Help. I'd like to follow up on a case that a distant cousin of mine submitted about displaying Temple Ordinances in Family Tree. Help Articles 1532 and 978 seem to indicate we shouldn't enter Temple Ordinance information anywhere in Family Tree. Yet, Article 1038 only mentions name cards should not be added to Memories. If we're asked to not create custom events with ordinance dates and temples, it would be consistent to not add memories that contain the same information. I hope you can clear up my confusion. Here's a copy of the email my cousin received.

(1) Recently another patron explained to me that they had removed a Family Group Sheet from the memories section of one of my ancestors because it showed sensitive temple ordinance data, which violated a FS policy (which she copied for me).

Hello and thank you for posting your question about what is appropriate to post in FamilySearch Memories.
Our rules for what is and is not appropriate include the following:
When a photo or document image is inappropriate, FamilySearch marks the memory item as "Restricted" and sends you an email message. If you believe this restriction is an error, reply to the email message you received, and provide an explanation. Your reply goes directly to the team that reviewed and screened your memory item.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints should not upload sacred or private items to FamilySearch Memories. Examples are below:
- Patriarchal blessings
- Membership record numbers
- Pictures of temple garments or temple clothing
- Family name cards

Just to clarify, is it appropriate to list temple ordinance information (date and temple) in a memory? There are two help articles that seem to indicate we shouldn't.

Do not add temple ordinance information to any section of the Family Tree. Family Tree is accessible by the public. Do not record temple ordinances or other sacred material on Family Tree in the Notes, as an Other Event, or in any other place on Family Tree.

If we have been asked to not include temple ordinance information as an event in the Other section, why would it be alright to include it in a memory? Please help me understand this discrepancy.

It is NOT alright, to include Documents, pertaining to Temple" Work, in the Memories" 'Tab' of individuals, in "Public" view.
But ...
That Said ...
It IS possible, to include Documents, pertaining to Temple" Work, in the Memories" 'Tab' of individuals, IF (and, ONLY "IF") one makes those "Memories"; as, "Private" - ie. NOT able to be 'seen' by OTHER Users/Patrons.

I believe I understand the Help Articles. What are my options if a distant cousin adds a memory that contains Temple Ordinance information? Data Administration won't remove it because it isn't considered Abuse. Would I be out of line to detach the memory?
