Fix Searched Name List: date before one typed in ?
I am searching for someone Born in 1928, a positive date. But when I get to the list [389 persons] on the FamilySearch's list, there are dates from the 1800s to the early 1900s - ALL before the date I know he was born. IF I add th name of his spouse, there are No results? And any "exact" brings up few to no results. Family Search used to be easier & better to find people. [A second thing, while I found some of my ancestors here a few years ago, Now, they are not even listed - same name, no results? Why?]
I suggest 2 things:
1 - As you type in a name to search - Instead of having the box "Birth or Death Date" you
have 2 boxes, one for Birth And one for Death date - since most of us know one or the other but not both, which is Why we are searching for that person.
2 - You need to FIX your "search" parameters. as above. If one types in a specific date, not a date range, then a date from over 5 years before should not come up. BUT when hundreds of names come up, many not even close to the date or name shown, It takes valuable Time to search, when there are several hundred names to go through [and most aren't even close, due to SOUNDEX].
Hate to say it but Family Search was better to search several years ago . . . and it's becoming even more difficult to search lately, & it's now more like Ancestry & Ellis Island than ever.

Greetings, when I type in a name, date of birth or death [or "between"] and place [i.e. NY, NY, USA] I get hundreds of names, most of which are not even close to that Date, nor of that place!?! Sometimes, among those hundreds, there are just a few that I know are that person, time & place, but not the data I'm looking for. So I decide I don't have time to search all these, as most aren't near what I typed in. So I do "exact" on any one of the parameters, either the Name, Date or Place & sometimes more than one.
I find it very odd, that when I type in any or all of the data as "exact" & press Search, I get this "No results found" - Or I get ONLY 2 to 5 names - But NONE are even close to the data that I typed in & I know is true, specifically, the given name I am looking for. Why is that? From over 300 not close data typed in, to a very few that are nothing like I typed in.
There are other times when I want to "recheck" data I found of a person a few years ago on this site . . . But again my search goes nowhere . . . in other words, the Data I found last year, is now not there. Why is that? Where did that data go? Why isn't it accessible any more? How can data typed in be so erronious or just disappear from the site?
So My suggestion is that something needs to be fixed with the site algorithm that does not recognize what is typed in. I've also recently written about the Italian Records are Broken & got an E-mail response that stated:
"FamilySearch Support is changing to a different email program for handling your needs and requests."
I have gotten that message every other time, in the past few Years! saying the same thing? That is absurd to me, coming from a site that also stated: "We apologize for being so slow replying to your need, but we do want to be helpful for you" To me it's just not wanting to own up to Errors in your algorithm & site operations.

PS, when I tried to find out how to ask a question, or leave a comment either to the site workers, or community help - it took me 20 minutes to find a place to post the above. I pressed "Feedback" as your instructions showed - but there was NO place that said "Feedback" & I had to search multiple pages, only to get this "Community Home - Suggest an Idea" page. Nothing on the community Help allows to leave a New message that I saw. So the site IS broken & not easy to navigate either.
