Fix Searched Name List: date before one typed in ?

I am searching for someone Born in 1928, a positive date. But when I get to the list [389 persons] on the FamilySearch's list, there are dates from the 1800s to the early 1900s - ALL before the date I know he was born. IF I add th name of his spouse, there are No results? And any "exact" brings up few to no results. Family Search used to be easier & better to find people. [A second thing, while I found some of my ancestors here a few years ago, Now, they are not even listed - same name, no results? Why?]

I suggest 2 things:

1 - As you type in a name to search - Instead of having the box "Birth or Death Date" you

have 2 boxes, one for Birth And one for Death date - since most of us know one or the other but not both, which is Why we are searching for that person.

2 - You need to FIX your "search" parameters. as above. If one types in a specific date, not a date range, then a date from over 5 years before should not come up. BUT when hundreds of names come up, many not even close to the date or name shown, It takes valuable Time to search, when there are several hundred names to go through [and most aren't even close, due to SOUNDEX].

Hate to say it but Family Search was better to search several years ago . . . and it's becoming even more difficult to search lately, & it's now more like Ancestry & Ellis Island than ever.
