I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]
The "Help Others" feature/function/facility, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', for Users/Patrons, who are Member of the Church, is STILL ("Currently") available.
UNLESS ...
Of course, you are referring to the ("Disappointing") proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, that 'FamilySearch', is working on - ie. a work in progress.
IF, such is the case; THEN, luckily, at present, one CAN "Turn" OFF, that ("Disappointing") proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen; and, revert back, to the CURRENT "Home"/"Landing" page/screen.
I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.
As an aside ...
At first, I thought, Just maybe, hopefully, the "Help Others" feature/function/facility, is MISSING, from the ("Disappointing") proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen; as, they are working on (and, we ONLY 'see') a GENERIC "Version" for ALL, rather than the "Version", that is ONLY accessible for Users/Patrons, who are Members of the Church; but, unfortunately, such is NOT the case.
So ...

'Yes', the "Help Others" feature/function/facility, IS MISSING, from the ("Disappointing") proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen.
IF, you have NOT already; THEN, perhaps, you MAY want to provide "Feedback" on that, in relation to the ("Disappointing") proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen.
Just my thoughts.

The full header and footer of the FamilySearch home page does not yet show up on the "try new homepage features" because it is still in a pilot phase. Once that page goes live, you will see the Help Others as well as the full footer of the home page. When you switch to the pilot you are only seeing the functionality of the items that will be changing. You are not yet seeing the entire home page.

As, you have responded; and, are a, "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" ( Personnel ) ] ...
So ...
That Said ...
The MAIN ( Normal) "Header" Menu, IS there (ie. been applied).
Whereas, it 'looks' like, the SUB "Header" Menu, containing "Help Others", for Users/Patrons, who are Members of the Church; and, the NORMAL (page/screen) 'Footer", are NOT there.
And ...
Yet, there IS both,
(1) an UNNECESSARILY, "Huge", ANNOUNCEMENT, for the "US 1950 Census";
.... [ PLEASE; Please; please, get rid of; or, at least "Reduce", that UNNECESSARILY, "Huge", ANNOUNCEMENT ... ]
And, ...
(2) a "New" SUB "Header" Menu, for the proposed, NEW "Home"/'Landing" page/screen.
As such ...
Questions:
WHY, has the the SUB "Header" Menu, containing "Help Others", for Users/Patrons, who are Members of the Church, been OMITTED?
And, also, WHY, has the he NORMAL (page/screen) 'Footer", been OMITTED?
I understand, that the proposed, NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, that 'FamilySearch', is working on, is STILL a 'work in progress'.
But ...
That Said ...
It would make more sense; and, be better, to provide an EXPERIENCE, for Users/Patrons, that is "Closer" to the "Finished" Product, if ALL features/functions/facilities (and, facets) WERE included.
As, it is, there has been much concern, from Users/Patrons, with regard to features/functions/facilities (and, facets), that are MISSING ...
ie.
WHAT, is happening, with the "To-Do" List?
This has been raised, on numerous occasions ...
Yet, we have not been advised; as, to whether or not, the "To-Do" List, will be either, "Retained"; or, "Discarded", this is of great concern, to many of us Users/Patrons, who USE, the "To-Do" List ...
[ ie. We NEED some "Feedback", FLOWING, in the OTHER "Direction" ... ie. Towards, the Users/Patrons ... ]
