When doing Family Review, what should be done when the Sir Name Field contains a long line?
On Census records, the sir name is normally written only for the head of household unless it is different from that of the head of household. Usually the other members of the family have a long line in the sir name field. If the sir name is left blank for these people, how will it ever be associated with them?
To avoid inconsistent interpretations of this line, instructions should be given as to how to treat the line.

@karenannjohnson2 I understand that you are having questions about the consistency of instructions of the household and also if there is a person in the household of a different name.
If there is a person that has a different name than the head of the household, then you would make sure that his name is correct in the index field with his surname.
Concerning the dashes, lines, and blank in the surname of the household, you would fill in the surname or verify the surname of the head of the household or the person right above the one with the dash.
I am attaching two articles which explain this. We realize that there are knowledge articles which may be inconsistent with other articles, but these are being worked on. We appreciate your insight. Thank you so much for helping our efforts.
