1902 Records in New York State Death Index

Issue: I can't find Sarah J Powell who died 5 Feb 1902 in Auburn, Cayuga, NY in the New York Stake death index at FamilySearch. I can find her in the NY death index at ancestry.com. (https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/61535/images/47952_554177-00627?treeid=&personid=&hintid=&queryId=cd8fdc9d8984565fc2764c2950752ab1&usePUB=true&_phsrc=XbU231&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&_ga=2.17686716.464255401.1650898159-1453907898.1644107167&pId=3377205)

When I do search in the NY death index at FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2803479) and just put in Auburn, Cayuga, New York, and 1902 as the year, I don't get any records from 1902 on the first page of the results. Since I know Sarah is in the death index, I am wondering if there's a way to browse the images and go to the page where her record is located since I know where it is after searching at ancestry.com

1) are the 1902 Auburn, NY records missing from the New York State Death Index?

2) how can I browse images by year in the New York State Death Index?

@Mike357 Once I found her, by locating the page, I edited her date of death to the correct year. That's why you can find the record now.

You can click the "Edit" box and select the option to "Show All Record Edits."

I couldn't find Sarah Powell by searching on her name either. Instead I searched for someone else visible on the same page on Ancestry, and I found Sarah here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QGPY-LDQY

Many of the deaths on that page have been indexed as occurring in 1905 instead of 1902.

@GroesbeckRichardLee1, this afternoon, I had the same experience as @Áine Ní Donnghaile. I searched for another person on the page; found the index record details page for Sarah Powell - but even with that, I was not able to successfully search the state death index for her.

However, this evening, I am having no problem finding Sarah Powell when searching the New York, State Death Index, 1880-1956. I wonder if something has changed that now permits a successful search.

Why don't you try once again to see if you can search the collection for her, and let us know if you are successful.
