Problem after clicking on "Not a Match"
After doing the above, "https://www.familysearch.org" is added in front of the URL of the resulting page, giving an error. Hopefully it can be easily fixed?
I'd like to help you, let me understand : you did click on Not a Match and then what happened?, and can you please post an image of it.
Thanks for replying. It happens every time I do it. I don't have any matches to review at the moment so I can't do a screenshot, but after you click Not a Match you should return to where you started from, right? What happens is that "https://www.familysearch.org" is inserted immediately before the URL of the page you should be returning to, resulting in "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site." For example, something like https://www.familysearch.orghttps://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/LBH9-1PZ
If you delete the https://www.familysearch.org and press enter you get to the correct page https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/LBH9-1PZ
As it happens every time, I assume it is a problem with how the site is set up, not with something I am doing. I can't see a way to report it to Familysearch so I posted here, thinking maybe someone from Familysearch might be able to fix it.0
What state are you reviewing, are you using a mobile? are you reviewing names only? what browser are you using?0
I am using Firefox on a PC. Not sure what you are asking regarding state, do you mean a US state? I am looking at UK records. I am not reviewing names?
When you look at the Timeline section of a person's record, or at the Possible Duplicates section, if there is a possible match a blue box appears saying Review and Attach. I click on that and it takes you to a page where you have the option to click on Not a Match if it's not a match.
As I say, I don't think it's a me problem, it's a problem with the site itself. It needs someone from Familysearch to look at it, as I said there doesn't seem to be a way to report problems directly so I posted here hoping someone from Familysearch might see it.2
I marked a record hint as "not a match" tonight and didn't see this behavior, but as usual, I did it from the pop-up rather than from Source Linker. Or is it only merges/possible duplicates that do this to you?
Given that I've never seen or even heard of this, despite using FS basically daily, I wonder if there's some sort of "helpful" browser add-on or setting responsible for it. (I'm also on Firefox in Windows, so it'd have to be something extra or non-standard.)0
Mireva, thanks for reporting it. I now have screenshots which are attached, perhaps it would be useful to pass them on?
I was in the person's Timeline and clicked on the blue hint box to arrive at the first page, where I clicked on Not a Match and got the error shown. This is using Firefox on Windows 10 on a PC. I do have uBlock Origin ad blocker, but I don't think it would cause this.1
