In the instructions it mentioned the mother of the deceased's maiden name should be put before her married surname. Is this true for the deceased as well, or should I not worry about it?
Hello @Angie Marie Whiteley. In order to get the best answer to your question could you share the batch number [XXXX-XXX] found at the end of the project information or you can click on the share batch button. This will allow someone to see your batch and assist you better.
Thank you for working with these records.
@Angie Marie Whiteley
I haven't worked on this particular project, but the general indexing instructions state that maiden names and former surnames should be typed in the field before the current surname. A maiden name or former surname was often indicated by the words "née," "formerly known as," or "born as." A maiden name was also sometimes written in parentheses.
If you select the surname box, you will see a question mark appear on the top RH corner. Click on this and it will open the Field Help, giving you specific information for that field in the project you are working on.
Hope this helps.
