I have continuing problems logging in to beta and cannot do it with my FamilySearch password. After a couple of tries it accepted my Church password.

Others I associate with are also having this problem.

This probably needs some looking into.

Thanks, Bruce

    @Bruce McLeod

    Bruce

    It's 'Brett' ... [ From your "Related", previous, 'Post' ... ]

    Good pickup ...

    So, it appears, that ...

Following the recent "Split" of, Our CHURCH Account; and, Our 'FamilySearch' Account ...

    Whereby ...

A "Change" in the "Password" of one, NO LONGER corresponds, in a "Change" in the "Password", of the other.

    [ Like it used to ... ]

Here is a "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

    FamilySearch and Church Account Split

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/familysearch-and-church-account-split

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/familysearch-and-church-account-split

    That ...

IF, one DID "Change", the "Password", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, to a DIFFERENT "Password", than that of one's "Church" Account; THEN, that "Change", DID NOT, take hold/correspond, in the "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment, of 'FamilySearch', for our "BETA" 'FamilySearch' Account.

Which, we would have seemingly ... expected ...

It NOW, sounds like, that there is ALSO a "Disconnect"/"Split", between ALL three (x3) of our Accounts.

    ie.

    ▬ "Church" Account; and,

▬ "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment: 'FamilySearch' Account; and,

▬ "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment: 'FamilySearch' Account.

    Whereby ...

Despite, that fact, that one HAS "Changed", the "Password", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, to a DIFFERENT "Password", than that of one's "Church" Account; unfortunately, the "Password", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment, of 'FamilySearch', "Still" MIRRORS the "Password", of one's "Church" Account, rather than that, of the "Changed' one, in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment.

That is a 'Trap', that NEEDS addressing/fixing ...

    So, primarily ...

    Currently ...

IF, one "Changes", the "Password", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, that DOES NOT "Automatically" translate, to a corresponding SAME "Change", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment.

    Plus ...

    It may be, that ...

IF, one "Changes", the "Password", in one's 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment, to a DIFFERENT "Password", than the "Passwords" in BOTH of one's, (1) "Church" Account; and, (2) 'FamilySearch' Account, in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment; THEN, presumably, "All" THREE (x3) of those Accounts, CAN ultimately, have DIFFERENT "Passwords".

MAYBE, that is a "Security" feature, by "Design" ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

I (humbly) suspect NOT, just an "Oversight" ...

And, that CAN (and, certainly, WILL) cause problems/issues ...

    Personally ...

I consider, that the "Password", in OUR 'FamilySearch' Account(s) in BOTH,

    (1) the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment; and,

    (2) the "Beta" (ie, "Test") Environment,

SHOULD be the SAME "Password" (ie. "Linked" together).

It is LUCKY, for those, that DID NOT choose, to "Change" the "Passwords" ... with the recent "Split" ...

    Again ...

    Good pickup ...

Certainly, something, that 'FamilySearch', MAY need to (investigate; and) consider - if it has not ALREADY ...

I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I just wanted to support posts, in this matter.

    Brett
