Sharing with Temple
I've noticed the work has been done for ancestors I've shared with the Temple very recently, but there are many that are shared as far back as 2020 and for some who other people have shared back to 2018. The system won't allow to re-share with the Temple but I'm concerned in case these ancestors who were put in a long time ago have been forgotten or misplaced. Thanks.

How long does it take for the temple to complete shared names?

It is difficult to predict how long it will take for ordinances shared with the temple to be completed:
- Temples distribute ordinance cards as they are needed by the patrons who visit. The number of ordinance cards distributed each week can vary.
- Ordinances that have been shared with the temple can be reserved by other people who share your same ancestors. In some cases, this might happen within a few days. In other cases, it might not happen at all. These second reservations expire in 90 days. After that, they are returned to the temple, and the ordinances are distributed in the same order that they were originally received.
Currently, male endowments take the longest to complete. The other ordinances (baptism, confirmation, and initiatory) for male or female generally do not take as long.
Ordinances that are shared with the temple do not expire. If you have a concern about the length of time it is taking for specific ordinances to be performed, please contact FamilySearch Support. Please provide the ID number of the individual and the ordinances about which you have a concern.
