FAQ
The question of "Why do we build Temples?" is no longer on the first page of FamilySearch.org.
When showing new members this side of the Church, this was a helpful page. Non-members wanting to search family seem to ask this question too. This page answered in the words the First Presidency wanted the public to read.

"Why we build temples" is not a question I would expect to find in FamilySearch's FAQ, as FS is not a church.
That said, FS doesn't appear to have an FAQ. The closest the site map offers is the "about" page (https://www.familysearch.org/en/about/), which has a link to a "more about the connection/sponsorship" page (https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/sponsorship), but I don't know how anyone ever finds either of those. Other than that, there's the Help Center landing page (https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/landing), which offers five frequent questions: contact us, forgot my password, how to correct a parent-child relationship in Tree, privacy, and how to create an account. I don't know whether those five choices are static or variable; I've never paid attention to that page before.

It's 'Brett'.
Just in passing ...
The question of "Why do we (ie. the Church) build Temples?", may NOT be a question, that you would expect; being, a User/Patron, who is not a member of the Church, to 'see' on 'FamilySearch'; which, like it or not, represents the Church.
But ...
That Said ...
Such, IS a 'Question', that is OFTEN asked, by NEW Members of the Church; and, ALSO Users/Patrons, who visit the "Family History Centres", of the Church around the World; but, who are not members of the Church.
You personally, may NOT be interested about such; nor, expect to 'see' such, in 'FamilySearch; but, there are OTHER Users/Patrons, who certainly ARE interest about such; and, do not mind 'seeing' such, in 'FamilySearch'.
I CAN attest to such, being a Staff Member, of "Family History Centres", of the Church, for many Years.
And, I DO NOT believe, that there is anything WRONG, with such appearing in 'FamilySearch'.
IF, one is not interested in such; THEN, one can just gloss over such, if one so desires.
After all, the principal purpose, that 'FamilySearch' was created, by the Church, was for Members of the Church, to follow the Tenets of the Church, to purse their Genealogy/Family History; and, NOTHING has changed, in respect to that purpose.
So, when all said and done, I totally understand; where, 'Jeff' is coming from; especially, when, working with and helping/assisting NEW Members of the Church; and, Users/Patrons, who visit the "Family History Centres", of the Church around the Work; but, who are not members of the Church, who may be interested.
It certainly IS ashame, that a small "Section" on "Why do we (ie. the Church) build Temples?", is NOT on the "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, of 'FamilySearch'; or, the introductory/Information sections.
Just my thoughts.
Brett
ps: I DO NOT, even want to address, the appearance/layout of the, "Information"; "About"; "Help", pages/screens ...
..... [ That, is another matter entirely ... ]
