Next of Kin

My father's second cousin Charles gave me much of my genealogy years ago. Charles and I were close through genealogy work. He himself was born in 1928 and as such falls under the 110 years or next of kin rule. He never married, his parents are long gone, he had only one brother gone also. I would like to get his temple work done but don't know if I am close enough kin without searching for someone - anyone - who might be closer.

    @dwatson1

    Thank you for your question. This is the definition of close living relative.

    A close living relative can be an undivorced spouse, an adult child, a parent, or a sibling.

    If the above are no longer living, you can apply for approval to do his work. Also see this knowledge article for more information and instruction.

    How do I request ordinances for an ancestor who was born in the last 110 years?

    I hope this answers your question.
