can't see military date - more than 5 images back
I've downloaded an image from this project:
United States—Enlisted and Officer Muster Rolls and Rosters, 1916–1939 [Part Q][M3PQ-YTF]
The page is full of names, but they are numbered #372-#456. I looked at the previous pages to get the date for each entry (as this is surely a list of folks on station at a given date), but the page that has the date is more than 5 pages back and the system only lets me see 5 pages back. Should I just index all of the names without a date? Seems like a lot of work for someone to go back and fill in the date for each one.

@MinnWisRoots and @LarryClark43 make excellent points. The first page - with the date - of the very long Roster is beyond the -5 Reference image range to the left, as @MinnWisRoots says. But, as Larry suggested, look forward, and on Reference Image +3, you'll find the end of that Roster. Here is a screen snip of the bottom of that end page:
You may use the military date listed there - September 1, 1918 - for all the soldiers 0n your batch list. The actual date of the Roster is August 31, 1918, but no matter - this September date is just fine.
And if you couldn't find valid date information in any of the +1 to +5 Reference images, you would Blank all those date fields for all those soldiers, but you would index them as Larry's post indicates.
Also, if you're not aware of it, use the "copy forward to like fields" tool - the 6th icon from the right in the horizontal toolbar - on the first entry to propagate those common date fields to all following entries. It saves lots of time and energy.

At the top of the page it shows it is page #8, so you wouldn't be able to see page 1.

Yes, you just put in the names as you have no access to a date. Is there a date at the end of the list in the other direction?
Sounds like you are doing great. I have been struggling to read most of those.
The instructions say:
- Some images to be indexed may contain only a name. Images that contain only a name should be indexed regardless of whether they include any other fields being indexed in the project.

That's awesome! I just shared it on my Ward's Facebook page and sent it to my EQ president. Our ward is really pushing indexing this year - we have already done 37,000 records. Our stake's goal is 500,000 this year. I love how easy it is getting with the new digital tools. Thanks for educating me on that!
