Someone has entered 2 children ( of 8) of a second wife that belong to the first wife. These two children were born in 1835 and 1837. The second marriage took place in 1842. The second bride was living until then with her grandparents, and the father in question was with a wife and 8 children in a different household. Now people are adding on grandchildren to a woman they do not relate. I don't want a part of this mess. How to get my line out of this. Data error does not work.Maryellen Horrigan

Alexander Simpson Dunlap and Elizabeth Riggins married in 1842 Bibb County, AL.

MaryellenHorrigan, nice catch on the first two children likely different parentage, based on birth years in the 1850 census and marriage date found in sources you referenced. I would agree the children are "likely" Alexander Simpson Dunlap's (1909-1866) and have made the "baby step" to move the two girl's profiles to your "temp" mother profile and cleaned up the marriage entries (Dunlap/Riggins) to fit the sources linked to date. In the future, others can validate or source, change, enhance the two girls parentage as more records come to light.

It's not lost on me that Ancestry.com has about 150 trees with the same couple, relationship and children you mention; along with the error on the two girls. ....what isn't lost on me is that you took the step, like Mbj5346, to try to make the record accurate and your efforts move their life stories forward. .....baby steps...smile.

    enjoy the journey!
