Okay I haved only recently tried to fix some family trees and sometimes I get it right and probably make people mad that have put incorrect information in, but my problem is merging people. I am working on the genealogy of a woman and her daughter who "supposedly" are my very distant cousins and I spent a lot of time on John Channels  • G6LM-S4Y and his wife Sydney Green; April 1870  • GWN7-Y4C and in the course of my research found them in more than one Family search tree which I attempted to merge. Unfortunately I botched it and there are still more than one tree out there with them and their children and just now I tried to add their daughter Lucy from her second husband's marriage record and the first thing the merge function wanted to do was make Lucy another spouse of John, my bad, but when I figured out how to make her his daughter I made the mistake of correcting the birth date info that was in the record I was merging from and instead created a new person and I totally cannot figure out how to merge them correctly, the merge function seems to want to throw away most of the relevant information from one or both records and I cannot figure out how to make it get the information in right.
