Why is "son" in the apartment number field?

I'm in the family review stage, and I have come across a couple of families that have the house & apartment number (two fields) at the beginning of the line. Rather than an apartment number or a blank, the field has "son" written. Should this be left as it is, deleted, or changed?

Sorry can't answer your question- but a related question. What is something besides a house number is written there? Like "South end of the Fair Grounds" How is that one or similar ones supposed to be recorded?

Is it possible to be a house number like 50 N (5on)? That would be great if you have a screenshot.
