1950 census announcement
I work on a small lap top so my screen space is limited. For several weeks now the 1950 census "announcement" has taken up half of my screen and I have to work around it. Is there some way for me to remove it? And now I have another announcement about others ways to be involved in indexing. Help! enough is enough! :)

I don't know of any way to prevent that big 1950 Census banner from appearing on the Web Indexing home page. And FS has placed Indexing under "Get Involved" - not much we can do about that. But once you open a Batch, that banner doesn't intrude, and you have all that precious screen real estate to do your indexing work in the usual way. You'll have even more space if you click F11 to work in "full screen" mode. Did I misunderstand your problem/issue @HowardSusanJane1 ?
