Make previous page available to discover last name of children

If the previous page was available when indexing names, it would be easy to determine the last name of each member in the household by the same name as the head of household.

Since that is not available at this time, there is no way to index the last name for many family members who show up on the page being shown, because only the last name of the head of household is written but on the previous page. If the family is divided between two pages, as often occurs, none of he last names can be indexed

    As I understand it, we are to accept "-" when the family name is not written again. There will be a later pass through the sheets to assemble families. So, in Review Names there is no need to refer to a page before or after the current page.

    @Nova Johnson

    FYI

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    So, that we may be able to understand ...

    Question: Is this a statement, regarding DOING "Indexing" in "General"; or, is this something else?

    Or, this a statement, regarding DOING the "Reviewing", in the "1950 US Census"?

    Please advise/clarify.

    'Thank You", in advance.

    Brett
