It looks like the earliest confirmed record you have for Nancy is her marriage to James Lane on 29 June 1843 at Owen County, Indiana. I would try to take very small baby steps from this date. Are there tax yearly tax records for this location. If so, are there McIntosh's living in this county? Are there McIntosh's here in the 1840 US Census? If there are, look for land and probate records which may give relationships. You may discover her parents in this way. Just some ideas.
