My husband's niece has reserved my husband's brother's temple work LTX3-1WG and he is wanting to do this work. His brother has been deceased 5 years now.

The ordinances have now been released and ready for your husband to reserve them

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    You are not alone ...

    Unfortunately, it happens.

And, we all understand, you Husband, want to be responsible, for doing the "Temple" Work of his Brother ...

    Firstly ...

As, you have not mentioned such, in you post ...

    Question:

Have you tried contacting your Husband's niece, requesting, that she simply passing on, the "Temple" Card, to you Husband, to do/undertake, the "Temple" Work; and/or, "Unreserve" the "Reservation"; and/or, "Share" the "Reservation" with your Husband?

IF, not; THEN, that would be the FIRST course of action.

    Secondly ...

    Now ...

    That Said ...

IF, your Husband's niece, is the Daughter, of your Husband's Brother; THEN, she can certainly, "Request"; and, be responsible for, the undertaking of the "Temple" Work (even, though, she cannot do the Work), for her Father.

OR, she may have been "Shared" the "Temple" Work, by her Mother, if her Mother is still "Living"; and, a Member of the Church (or, another DIRECT Family member).

    Whereas ...

IF, your Husband's Brother, was Born LESS than x110 Years ago; and, your Husband's niece, is NOT the Daughter (or, Adopted/Step Daughter) of your Husband's Brother; THEN, your Husband's niece, would have more than likely have to have had the "Temple" Work "Shared" with her by another Family member, who had such "Permission"; or, failing that, have had to have, requested; and, been enabled/authorised/allowed, to undertake the "Temple" Work, by requesting such, through 'FamilySearch'.

    Finally ...

    As such ...

Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':

Individuals for whom I can request temple ordinances

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/individuals-for-whom-i-can-request-temple-ordinances

Can I do temple ordinances for my aunts, uncles, and cousins?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-do-temple-ordinances-aunts-uncles-and-cousins

    And ...

    Most importantly ...

Someone has reserved an ordinance that I want to do

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/someone-has-reserved-an-ordinance-that-i-would-like-to-do

    Good Luck.

    Just my thoughts.

I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue.

    Brett
