New York Passenger Lists 1820-1891, Indexing errors on dates
There is a widespread indexing problem with dates in New York Passenger Lists 1820-1891
The first person on the page, Bernhard Drefus, immigrated in 1906. That is incorrect. On the previous page, the date of arrival is listed as 28 Oct 1835.
This record is in the section Passenger lists 1 Sep 1835-19 Jan 1836 [NARA M237 roll 28].
I have fixed a few of the entries on this page, but it appears to be a widespread problem with the indexing.
"New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1891," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939V-PQBG-B?cc=1849782&wc=MX62-JTL%3A165727201 : 26 November 2014), 028 - 1 Sep 1835-19 Jan 1836 > image 417 of 752; citing NARA microfilm publication M237 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).
Is there a way for FamilySearch to determine when this problem was introduced and find a way to fix the entire database? It makes it difficult to find ancestors immigration when the arrival date is off by 71 years. Note that it also makes the estimated birth dates off by 71 years.
