Hi, I have located a record from the York County, PA Deed Grantee Index and would like to locate the deed. York County Deed indexes and the deed books are at:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/?availability=Family%20History%20Library

I've located the record in the Grantor index surnames N-R 1749-1912, film #007837378, image # 281 for:

Grantee Nicholas D Schneider from Grantor Geo W Thomas

This directs me to the deed in Volume 16 W, page 580

But there are no volumes labeled 16W -- they end at 3Y. Can anyone point me to where I would find this deed record? Thanks for the help!

The record is too recent to be on FamilySearch. The index dates it to 1910, while as you've seen, FS has the deeds up to volume 3Y, which is 1854-1859.

You may be able to get access to the deed by asking the York County Recorder of Deeds. Their FAQ (https://yorkcountypa.gov/property-taxes/recorder-of-deeds/faqs-rod.html) indicates that the records are public.
