What is the best way to confirm if a temple ordinance has been performed?

The context for this is that family members believe that they were part of the original proxy ordinances but the ordinance is not shown on the individuals family file of ordinances performed.

They don't have the original record that shows the dated activity at the temple but they were sure it was done.

I want to make sure that the work has indeed been done.

If there is no way of confirming that this has indeed occurred is it best to go ahead and redo the ordinance?

Your help would be sincerely appreciated.

Kind Regards
