Mt Fletcher South Africa - standardized to Fletcher, Lake, Montana

There are at least hundreds of records from South Africa that are standardized to Montana.

I'm not a not an expert and don't understand the complexities of the whole thing but it seems like the system is taking the first name in the list, rather than consider where the records are from and choosing a closer match

Can these be fixed?

Thanks

@starkeypd, unfortunately, this is an example of an inaccurate place standardization process in FamilySearch, which is a problem that is occurring all too often. It is a problem that the engineers are working to solve.

I will forward this issue so that it will get into the queue for the engineers to work. Until the problem has been fixed, you may want to use the Edit button to correct the location for your relative.

We're unable to indicate when the problem will be resolved and we appreciate your patience .
