Is it possible to reserve names that have been released to the temple by someone else?
I received a message from FamilySearch stating "You have received family temple names". The message gave the name of the person who sent the name to me, but I don't know the person. When I clicked on "Review Temple Names" in the message, I saw a green temple icon by the name with the words "Shared with the Temple". Did FamilySearch share the name with me or did the person who shared the name with the temple send it to me? For other names with a red temple icon, I don't see the option to reserve names that have been shared with the temple. Can you explain this to me?

A new feature that was released in December 2020 now makes it possible to request and reserve ordinances that have been reserved by someone else and shared with the temple.
"Reserving an ordinance that has been shared with the temple does not require any special steps. View the person's ordinance information as you normally would on either the FamilySearch website or the Family Tree app. If a particular ordinance is accompanied by a green temple icon with a clock, it can be requested. If the ordinance has a blue temple icon, it cannot be requested."
The article has illustrations to help with the process.

This was most like "Shared" with you through this "Campaign" in "FamilySearch", by another User/Patrons, who is most likely an EXTENDED family member or relation:
.
Share the love with your family
https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/reservation/share
.
.
Go ahead; and, "Reserve" that individual/person that was "Shared" with you; and, do the "Temple" Work.
.
You can then contact the other User/Patron; and, request the Work for the others that they had "Share[d] with the Temple System", where the 'Icons' are "Red".
.
Perhaps, the other User/Patrons was just 'testing the waters', to see if you responded; and, were interested.
.
It is all about, working together; and, collaborating.
.
Enjoy.
