Where on earth is my John Richardson?
Long story. My 3rd Ggrandfather's name was either John Richardson or John H Richardson, born about 1797 in Virginia. HIs Family Search ID is L7BK-MQ2. He was married to Anna Hemry in Harrison County, Ohio (marriage record at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939K-BJS4-XD?i=28&cc=1614804&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AXZCR-Z38) 30 April 1818. Later we find those 2 in Champaign County, Ohio on several census records. The confusing part is that there is, you guessed it, another John Richardson in Champaign County, Ohio married to an Anna.
Anna Hemry married another man, Thomas S Palmer, 1 February 1848 in Crawford County, Ohio. My cousins and I cannot find what happened to John Richardson to cause Anna to remarry. We know for sure she remarried because we followed her and her kids via census records, death records, and tombstones and her to Illinois and then to Kansas.
We have heard stories of John Richardson taking care of a crippled nephew, Clark, and being buried next to him in Hardin County, Ohio (Find a Grave memorial https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/11192121/john-h-richardson)
My question is this. What happened to my 3rd Ggrandfather, John Richardson aka John H Richardson? Is this Find a Grave memorial incorrect? Did he and Anna Hemry separate or divorce? Did he die before she remarried in 1848? There are too many John Richardsons in western Ohio during the 1800s. Can anyone help me narrow down what happened to him?
Thank you so much!
Ida Houston
